First game of the new season takes place at Old Trafford
The Man Utd vs Fulham live stream sees the Premier League 2024/25 season get underway as United look to start the campaign with a victory when they welcome the Cottagers to Old Trafford
Man Utd had a nightmare campaign last term as they finished eighth in the table, their lowest-ever Premier League finish. However, Erik Ten Hag did deliver silverware thanks to victory in the FA Cup final over Man City and it has been a busy summer for the Dutch manager. United have brought in four players, including Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee and centre-back Matthijs de Ligt. Could they prove to be the difference for the Red Devils this season?
Fulham enjoyed a comfortable campaign last season as they finished in 13th and were never in danger of being dragged into a relegation dogfight. This summer they have had to rebuild after the exits of Tosin Adarabioyo, Joao Palhinha and veteran defender Tim Ream. Marco Silva has brought in some exciting talent, with Ryan Sessegnon returning and Emile Smith Rowe joining from Arsenal.
Fulham secured a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford last season and are now aiming for consecutive away wins against Man Utd for the first time.

Old Trafford will host the opening game of the 2024-25 Premier League season, as Manchester United play Fulham on Friday.
Erik ten Hag's charges kicked off their season with a FA Community Shield final loss to cross-city rivals Manchester City. The Red Devils will aim to improve on a poor season last time out.
On the other hand, Fulham will also be looking to elevate their performance after a 13th-placed league finish last term.
Manchester United team news
Injury woes have struck early for Ten Hag as big money signing Leny Yaro is sidelined with a foot injury sustained during pre-season, with the company of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Victor Lindelof in the treatment room.
And while Harry Maguire remains a fitness doubt, former Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui could be called into action in the back four.
In attack, Joshua Zirkzee should feature in the absence of injury stricken Rasmus Hojlund, with either Jadon Sancho or captain Bruno Fernandes deployed as a false nine.
Manchester United possible XI: Onana; Dalot, De Ligt, Martinez, Mazraoui; Casemiro, Mainoo; Amad, Fernandes, Rashford; Zirkzee.
Fulham team news
Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz will need to step into big shoes following the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic, joined by former United man Andreas Pereira and summer signing Emile Smith Rowe in midfield.
Fellow new signing Jorge Cuenca may not get the nod in the XI, so Issa Diop and Calvin Bassey are likely to form the central defensive pair at Old Trafford.
Fulham possible XI: Leno; Castagne, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Reed; Iwobi, Pereira, Smith Rowe; Muniz.
Manchester United has made moves in the run-up to the English Premier League season to try and move forward from its eighth-place finish in 2023-’24. United comes off a loss to Manchester City in the English FA Community Shield match, which came by a 7-6 loss on penalty kicks after the sides played to a 1-1 draw. That tune-up match could be an inspiring result for United against the four-time Premier League champs.
Fulham finished 13th in the Premier League standings last season with a 13-8-17 record and 47 points. They enter as an underdog to Manchester United (-180) looking to build on a sound defensive formula last season that tied for seventh-best in the league with 61 goals allowed.
The Red Devils kick off the 2024/25 campaign at Old Trafford, where Erik ten Hag will be under pressure to improve results after receiving significant backing this summer.
Marco Silva’s side, however, won at the Theatre of Dreams last season and have little reason to fear as they look to make a statement of their own on the opening day.
An eighth-place finish and an FA Cup final win were enough to keep Erik ten Hag in his job, but the pressure is now on for the Dutchman to show INEOS that he is the right coach to take the historic club back to where it belongs.
There were certainly signs in last weekend's Community Shield final defeat to Man City that this season could be brighter than the last, but an opening day victory would be the best way to silence the doubters.
Friday's visitors proved a real nuisance for the Red Devils in 2023/24, coming within minutes of a deserved draw at Craven Cottage and then beating them 2-1 at Old Trafford, on their way to an impressive 13th-place finish in their second season back in the Premier League.
Given the departures of key players like João Palhinha and Tosin Adarabioyo, steering clear of the relegation battle for another year would represent a successful season for the Cottagers, but Marco Silva and his players will have their sights set higher than that – something they'll be keen to make clear in Manchester.
The man most surprised about who's in the Man Utd dugout today may just be ten Hag himself. It seemed almost certain after finishing eighth in last season's campaign that his reign at the Red Devils would be over. But then his employer triggered a contract extension leaving the Dutchman looking to build on their good mood FA Cup win in May.
To do so, he's made some shrewd signings in the pre-season period, bringing in his former Ajax progeny Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraou from Bayern Munich. He'll need them to gel quickly to reinforce his hopes of still being in his job come Christmas.
The Marco Silva era at Craven Cottage saw his side consolidate their safe position in the EPL with a 13th finish last season. That included a dramatic away win against today's opponents at Old Trafford, when Alex Iwobi scored a 97th minute winner. Losing Portuguese international João Palhinha to Bayern will hurt, but bringing former favorite Ryan Sessegnon back into the fray should give the Cottagers a lift.
In his pre-match press conference, ten Hag has said that his team are "not ready" for he start of the season, which isn't exactly the reassurance his board probably wanted to here. But whether that's true or is just mind games will be seen later today on the pitch.
Manager Erik ten Hag faces immense scrutiny following a season of highs and lows. A FA Cup triumph provided a glimmer of hope, but the subsequent Community Shield defeat to Manchester City served as a sobering reminder of the challenges ahead.
Fulham, meanwhile, will be aiming to build on last season's 13th-place finish and secure a top-half finish. They will have to make do without last season's star man Joao Palhinha, following his big-money switch to Bayern Munich.
